3/4MD have delved straight into all things reading and writing. We have been reading Matilda as a class, and have been using ideas from the novel to practice writing simple, compound and complex sentences. We have been investigating figurative language such as onomatopoeia and similes to make our writing stronger in preparation for writing our own short stories.

During our weekly whole class reading, we read an article about Clean Up Australia Day which was held on Sunday March 2^nd. As a response to our reading, we created some eye-catching posters to encourage people to participate in a clean up event and to help our environment by doing their part.
